The purpose of the Cornish Historical Society is to collect and preserve the history of the town of Cornish, Maine. We were incorporated in 1993, just prior to the town’s Bicentennial. One of our first projects was to edit and re-publish A History of the Town of Cornish, Maine (2024). See a member to purchase a copy.

The Cornish Historical Society meets the third Thursday of each month at 4:00 p.m. at our location at 40 Main Street during the spring, summer, and fall months. The winter meetings are held at our Town Hall. We’d love to see you!

Here are the names of our Officers as of June 2025. Feel free to contact any of them for further information about the Cornish Historical Society.
